    MIETTE HOT SPRINGS

Miette Hot Springs provide a great place to get away from it all – while you’re getting away from it all. Located 61 kilometres (38 miles) from the Jasper townsite, the drive to Miette is beautiful and provides a relaxing cruise, while you anticipate a relaxing soak. While providing easy access, the springs are pool-style and attract, as do their counterparts in Banff and Radium, a great deal of tourist attention. Miette Hot Springs average over 50 degrees Celsius (122 degree Fahrenheit), making it the hottest springs in the Rockies, but the two pools are maintained at a comfortable 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). The parking lot for Miette also marks the trailhead for the popular Sulphur Skyline trail, a moderate day hike providing great views of Jasper’s front ranges. Although a bit of a trek from the Jasper townsite, Miette offers enough to occupy at least a good day in the area, if not several. For those who prefer to park themselves closer to the pools, campgrounds and rustic accommodations are located near the Highway 16 and Miette Road junction, just 17 kilometres (12 miles) before the springs.
